Hey there! You have reached the art blog of Shana Huseman!

Follow me on my adventure of surviving art college, trying to figure out how to make websites and layouts and all of that jazz, and hopefully making it in the real world as an Illustrator! I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hello everyone! First post on Tumblr, so I’m super excited to share this Sailor Mercury with everyone. This was made for an art trade between a friend and I. I’ve already begun working on the other sailor scouts and the next one will be up within the next few days!

All hand cut, using various papers with an X-acto blade, and with touches of watercolor at the end.

Beautiful paper fan art by CCAD student Lauren Engle.

My first painting for our Painting Workshop class. Essentially you can paint whatever you want, but you have to make at leave 5 finished works of art by the end of the semester. One that they could consider to be “gallery ready”. But I don’t have any plans for a gallery so I’m just trying to make nice paintings.
Overall I am happy with this painting, but next time I will do better!
PS. Painting in acrylics is hard
